I decided I wanted a new Gmail address with my new name. It used to be that you could have multiple addresses under a Google account. All you had to do was add a new address and then changed which one you wanted to use as your main one. Simple. But now you can't do that you have to have a completly new Google account for each address. And there is no easy way to transfer all your info to a new account so you just have to start from scratch and everything that uses your Google account (ie YouTube) also doesn't let you change which Google account it's linked to. There is absolutely no sense to any of it.

I eventually worked out you can transfer your YouTube channel via a brand account which is actually really simple. They just don't bother telling you that.
